Asbestos Removal Contractors Association (ARCA)
Stephen Sadley is the Chief Executive of the Asbestos Removal Contractors Association (ARCA). Steve joined ARCA 2000 as the Association’s Business Development Manager becoming the General Manager and then CEO in 2008.
Steve has spent all his career in the asbestos management industry, which has included roles as an asbestos analyst /surveyor in the UK, asbestos project manager for the Mass Transit Railway Corporation (MTRC) in Hong Kong and asbestos manager for a UK demolition company.
Steve has a BA in Business Management and a BSc in Environmental Science, and is a Fellow of both the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) and the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).
Steve has built strong relationships across the industry, and as CEO of ARCA is a member of The Asbestos Liaison Group (ALG), which is a forum of key stakeholders, including the HSE, that work together to promote best practices in the control of and work with asbestos. He played a significant part in setting up the Asbestos Removal Management Institute (ARMI).
Legally clients must ensure asbestos removal contractors are competent, how?
A seminar highlighting clients’ legal responsibilities to make suitable arrangements for managing a project. It will cover the CDM 2015 regulations which place explicit responsibilities on clients, such as appointing suitably competent contractors, and how independent audits on asbestos removal contractors’ work on-site, at least twice a year, aims to ensure these contractors have effective management systems and are competent for this hazardous work.
