Darren is AEC’s technical director, and has worked at AEC since 2000. Darren has more than 27 years’ experience in our industry and has specialised in the fields of asbestos, occupational hygiene and health and safety. Darren has worked in consultancy in the UK, Hong Kong, and on several overseas projects, and is an OHSCR registered consultant, a Chartered Member of IOSH, and has a degree in Health and Safety Management.

Darren’s experience is invaluable in providing practical, risk-based advice on compliance with current regulations, due diligence and auditing. Darren also has experience in setting up health and safety quality systems to OSHAS 18001, and CDM Regulations 2015, assisting small and medium sized businesses comply with the minefield that is health and safety law.

Risk assessment for the development of asbestos-contaminated land.

This presentation will discuss the requirements for assessing the risk to human ‘receptors’ and preventing the spread of asbestos during the development and remediation of asbestos-contaminated land. This shall give an overview of the procedures needed for the risk assessment, and how to comply with The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, ensuring that the material is identified and risks assessed, methods documented and the spread of asbestos prevented.
